What Customers Say About Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro v2.0:

With the raised profile and split key layout, she's much more comfortable. I got this for my wife to use at her office. She was using a standard "flat" keyboard with the traditional key layout, and was having some wrist soreness.

Me and two friends decided to buy this Keyboard+Mouse kit.The hardware was working relatively fine, but after exactly 1 month and 2 weeks of usage, the 3 keyboards starts presenting problems.Mostly with the specific keys.Hardware start presenting issues like one letter start to write on its own, and wont stop until you unplug the keyboard, or one key not writing the right letter, or F-keys not working, etc.Our thought is that all 3 units were defective, which is VERY BAD HARDWARE QUALITY we think.Right now, we are not eligible to do a good refund, and we mostly feel we have lost our money buying this piece of useless hardware. To be honest I DO NOT recommend buying this hardware or any Microsoft Hardware, which I have suffer a couple of issues in the past.To be honest I thought about giving Microsoft a second chance on this keyboard, but as expected, got wrong again.I will buy a logitech keyboard instead.

The other was an open box item and I wrote it off to the hazards of being a cheapskate, but that obviously was not the case. The case seems to be that Microsoft's contractor can't make a transmitter (or receiver) that works reliably.Through it all the Logitech trackball has worked flawlessly.I will avoid Microsoft wireless computer accessories in the future and adapt either to the old wired keyboard or to a cordless product that comes close in layout from some other vendor. On another note, Amazon was absolutely splendid about taking it back. It finally died, taking the mouse with it.This is the second Microsoft cordless keyboard that has [not] performed this way recently. Annoying but endurable in light of the no-cables tradeoff.Yesterday it began to miss keystrokes again and nothing, not even re-positioning the transmitter on the desktop inches from the keyboard would solve it.

I am fully adapted to the shape and key layout and thought it would be perfect when I updated my computer recently to alleviate the web of wires on my desk. I repositioned the transmitter and the problem subsided but continued to return again from time to time. I've been using the wired counterpart to this Microsoft product for years.

Resetting the keyboard and transmitter seemed to resolve the problem. A+++ Amazon. At the same time I bought a Logitech cordless trackball which I prefer to a mouse. On receiving it I found the semi-transparent key caps a little disconcerting and the key action sloppy but within tolerable limits.

I installed the transmitter behind me, about 3 1/2' from the keyboard and soon began to experience erratic, slow operation and missing keystrokes.

But basics of wireless keyboard and mouse functioning are there fine. THe myriad keyboard functions that are shown seem not to really do anything, ie you push "media" and nothing happens. I'm satisfied. Works well with minimal setup difficulty. But:no manual, one of the mouse features (magnifier) worked briefly and then just stopped.

But. I like my new keyboard. Every time I boot my pc I have to press it to activate standard functions binding. the only thing that bothers me is F-LOCK key. My hands don't suffer any more. Besides SPACE key works perfect.
